It seems fitting given a year to the day that Dana and Simon tied the knot at The Haus, in the quaint Adelaide Hills German town of Hahndorf.
Dana and Simon, currently live in Canberra, so much of our pre-planning took place by phone. They wanted their wedding day designed to ensure they could spend as much of their afternoon and evening with guests and family, not moving from place to place for photos or in front of the camera for formal family photographs. Sounds bloody perfect.
I made a few suggestions of accommodation options and timing, to maximise the party time. Their first look took place on the nearby property of the 20th Century painter Hans Heysen, a cracking backdrop for photographs amongst the gumtrees and gardens.
Then it was on to The Haus in Hahndorf to tie the knot in the cute little courtyard over cocktails, amongst their nearest and dearest.
Happy Anniversary Dana and Simon, and thanks again for having me capture it all for you and trusting in my ideas, maybe not quite to the standard of the great Hans Heysen himself, but hopefully the images created on your day remain as artworks in your shared history for generations to come.
