These wedding venue ‘love listers’ aren’t a review, but they do include a few of my feelings and thoughts based on my experience over the past 15 years as a wedding photographer. These venues are not paying or asking to be on my website, or necessarily referring my services (although I think some do by choice) – I’ve included these venues because I have seen them consistently provide exceptional wedding day experiences to my couples.

Mount Lofty House – 5 star location, cuisine and views

Cracking Cuisine
Wedding photographers are pretty fortunate, and while we might have to work most weekends, we have some pretty tasty meals come our way at wedding receptions. With a past life in the hospitality industry I appreciate the difficulty that comes with serving restaurant quality service and meals to 80+ people in short timeframes. With more than a decade of shooting weddings and the resulting ‘dinner for one’ I’ve seen the best…and the worst. Mt Lofty House has been one of a handful of wedding venues who have consistently served up really delicious, hot fresh meals.
From a wedding venue perspective Mount Lofty House offers grand vistas, plentiful settings and backdrops for photography and ceremony location options. The service is bang-on, the menu is always exceptional and they make great use of locally sourced produce.
Accommodation Options a big plus
Having the option for couples and guests to stay before and after the wedding either on-site or in one of the nearby cottages is a real plus, as is being just a 15 minute Uber from the city. With the recent addition of the SequoiaSuites for those who really want to splash out there’s something to cater for every taste and most budgets.
