Frequently asked wedding photography questions
I am a firm believers that the only silly question is the one you don’t ask. So here you will find some wedding photography questions that have been asked before. If you don’t find an answer to your questions here, then please feel free to send us any questions you have either via an email or give us a call.
Q. HOW MUCH DOES IT COST TO HAVE YOU PHOTOGRAPH OUR WEDDING?
A. It does vary, but coverage starts from $2800 for Elopements and Shorter Custom Wedding Coverage. On average couples budget between $4000 & $5000 with us. If you would like more information about inclusions etc just drop us an email and we’ll be happy to answer any questions you have and send more details.
Q. CAN WE HAVE THE HIGH RESOLUTION FILES ON USB?
Yes you can, certainly. It’ll cost you extra on on top of your coverage but it’s certainly an option. Can’t say it enough though..get some professional printing done by us, for your wall or in an album..there is no substitute.
Q. CAN WE HAVE THE UN-CORRECTED RAW FILES PLEASE ?
This is not something I do. I can’t see the need for this to happen and wherever possible I want to see the process of your wedding imagery through from start to finish and maintain quality control of your final images and any printing whenever we can.
Q. DO WE GET TO MEET YOU BEFORE THE DAY ? HOW DO YOU WORK THINGS ?
A. It’s fairly rare that I won’t meet a couple before their wedding – it happens very occasionally with couples who are flying in a day or two before the wedding from interstate or overseas. I’ll be in touch in the months prior to your wedding to arrange something with you. I will be quick to respond to your emails and I am happy to chat on the phone also. I can also schedule a Skype video call and do this often with our Destination Wedding clients.
Q. WE ARE THINKING OF GETTING MARRIED INTERSTATE OR MAYBE OVERSEAS. WILL YOU SHOOT OUR DESTINATION WEDDING ?
A. Happily. Travel and related expense will apply but we are more than happy to chat about it and work something out, that works for everyone. I have photographed Weddings, Elopements and Engagements in Darwin, Sydney, Queensland, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Bali, Laos, Sweden, Italy. Maldives and South Africa.
Q. HOW IS TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION ARRANGED FOR WEDDINGS REQUIRING THIS ? DO YOU DO IT OR DO WE ?
I often travel outside of Adelaide to wider areas of this state such as the Riverland or Yorke Peninsula and other interstate and international destinations. We quote for these additional costs on a per job basis and will book the flights and car hire where required (and find the cheapest convenient option for all involved) once you have approved the quote. We can discuss accommodation specific to your wedding.
Q. HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE SHOOTING ON OUR WEDDING DAY ?
A. Generally one, however I can arrange coverage with a second wedding photographer. A second photographer is a requirement if your wedding is exceptionally large sometimes. Our second photographer provides an opportunity to capture moments from alternative angles, often using a long (telephoto) lens, allowing for more candid imagery that covers the key moments of your day.
Q. DO YOU RECOMMEND ANY OTHER WEDDING RELATED SUPPLIERS ?
Q. THERE ARE GOING TO BE SOME SPECIFIC PEOPLE WE WANT PHOTOGRAPHED ON THE DAY. CAN YOU ACCOMMODATE THIS ?
A. If I am given a list and some indication as to who these people are, I’ll do my best to capture shots that include these people. Due to the nature and style of my photography, I can make no promises or guarantees but will do my best to grab the shots you want. I do recommend you create a list of family photos you’d like taken so this part of the day is stress-free for you both. It’s also great to have a ‘responsible person’ allocated to help me during the family photo time, they help gather the required people together. Saves a heap of time too.
Q. SHOULD WE PREPARE OUR OWN SHOT LIST ?
A.We would prefer if you provide only a list of the family or group members you would like photographed. In terms of specific set ups and angles, that’s really what you will be hiring us to worry about.
Q. TIMING. WE HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG TO ALLOW FOR DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE DAY AND THE VENUE AND CATERERS WANT ANSWERS ! CAN YOU HELP US ?
A. Draw on my 14 years experience. Chances are you’ve not done this before. The pre-wedding meetings we have together are great for many reasons – for you to decide if I’m the person you want sharing and capturing your wedding day, to look through some past weddings I’ve photographed and to get an idea of what your day can include and how long to consider allowing for these bits and pieces.
Q. WHEN WILL WE GET TO SEE OUR PHOTOS ?
A. I will endeavour to provide you with a link to your online gallery within 3-4 weeks.
Q. HOW DO WE BOOK WITH LUKE SIMON PHOTOGRAPHY ?
A. The booking process is a fairly straightforward one. I will send you a proposal complete with all details and inclusions and costs. You’ll be able to view this online at your convenience. You can then book directly online from that proposal at any time, view your payment dates and sign your contract.
