A Big Castle in Sweden was never somewhere I had imagined I’d get to travel to, let alone be paid to photograph a wedding at. But there I was, sitting in a bar in Copenhagen with two gorgeous Swede’s, soaking up the warm Summer vibes (and quite a few beers), with their closest friends. Life throws out some pretty amazing curve balls sometimes I guess.
I first met Lynn and Martin while shooting in the Maldives, at Gili Lankanfushi. I photographed them as a newly Engaged couple, we had a lot of laughs and we’d kept in touch. Fast forward 14 months and I was hopping off a plane in Denmark, beating the cobbled pavement with all my luggage and camera gear, on my way to a bar to hang out with Lynn and Martin, before crossing over by train to Sweden for more celebrations the following day.
And then it happened. A big castle in Sweden, just outside of Ystad. It all went way too quickly and I’d only just gotten used to the sun rising and setting on the opposite sides of my brain before it was over. It was a week of much warmth, sunshine, beers, cocktails, rum and coffee at midnight, laughs, dance moves, hugs and kisses. I made some great friends during that week in Sweden and below is a slice of how I witnessed it.
Here is Lynn and Martin’s beautiful Wedding in a big Castle in Sweden.
