Emily and James

This wedding would have to receive the award for the funniest set of speeches I’ve ever heard at a wedding. It’s fairly common to have one great speech but this was exceptional. MC Tim was superb and held office all night long. Along with auctioning off a dodgy print of Emily and James in a 2 dollar frame from an Op Shop, all in the name of raising some $ for the newly wedded couple to spend on their honeymoon. Bidding was rife and it fetched a cool $300 from memory.

Emily’s sister Ali was first of the bridal party to speak, a speech in which she incorporated a family traditional of the musical “The Music Man” into the history of Emily and her new husband James, working the crowd and using every inch of floor space and balcony to captivate her audience and receive a standing ovation….a tough act to follow for Best Man Dan and there were noted signs of panic in his eyes as she performed, but to his credit he nailed it also and had everyone in stitches.

It was a great day and Dane and I had a great laugh at the reception and enjoyed capturing their history as it unfolded before us. Some of the images from the day….
